regularly crashing - cpu temp question

Greetings,

crashing all over the place...no BSOD, jsut complete power off...temp issue i think..

currently getting 100~ degrees c on my amd dual core cpu (4800)

thats high right?

fan is working fine on the cpu...when i built this i put on good thermal compound and havent had an issue for 2 years.

is that temp high and if so next steps? thanks!

GPU at 57 degrees C. vid card not the prob me guessing.

YES!!!

Reapply thermal compound and make sure your CPU isn't overclocked like crazy.

Could be something as simple as to much dust build up. I would make sure to blow everything off before I reapplied the thermo compound.

I actually put a small blob on the CPU and spread it out using a piece of cardboard. Then put on the heat sink. It's always worked for me...

I know I'm re-stating but...
1) Check your overclocking
2) Check for dust buildup on/in your heat sink
3) Check the fan on your heat sink
4) Check any other fan settings
5) Reapply thermal compound

I think I have my PC set to shut off if the core hits 75 C, 100 is fucking nuts.

I'm having the same problem, but not over heating, everything stays within it's limits.

I even have a Huge ass fan blowing onto it now.

Also make sure your HSF is still spinning.

I occasionally get random shutdowns but only in Win7, no BSOD either. It's not a heat issue though as idle / surfing = ~ 38-39c, under load is only around 48c.
