Command and Conquer

Anyone else a fan of the series? I never got into the Red Alert set, but the originals with GDI vs NOD always got me interested.

My fiance' just bought me both C&C 3's, and C&C 4... since they were on sale through Steam(75% off.... got all 3 for less than $20).

I still play the original, although the colours come out a little messed up these days. I bought The First Decade, just so I could play the older ones on my newer system. I also have a good time with C&C Tiberian Sun. The missions are challenging, and the Skirmish mode is fun to play for shits and giggles.

Anyone have reviews/hints for 3 and 4?

I haven't played any other C&C games, but Red Alert 1 and 2 are my all time favourite strategy games.

I used to be pretty big into C&C but put it in a box a while ago. The last one I played was Tiberium Suns and I remember it being petty challenging. I bought 4 almost a year ago. It is a nice change of pace from the classic style of rts games. I really enjoyed it though and you can do co op campaign if you want, some of the missions can get rediculous.

They finally finished DLing..... Steam must have been busy as shit today(understandable), plus we had 2 other computers DLing games for a bit.

I started with C&C3.... I must say, I found the controls a little different from earlier games, but I adapted easily. Overall, I had fun with it for a couple of hours. I can see I'll be playing this one quite a bit.

Hopefully they put C&C back on sale. I was too cheap to pick 'em up, but then I looked at some YouTube videos later, and knew I had to have them.

I'll find out in a couple hours

Too cheap? Good Lord, I got all 3 of those games for $18. You're not going to get them any cheaper than that.

I know I'm digging up the dead, but the Origonal C&C and RA1 was released by EA for free a few years back. I'm personally a HUGE fan of RA2 (If anyone knows a a casual RA2 community that is alive, I would love to load that game back up). RA1 just doesn't run or play very well. I go C&C3 and I didn't like it at all. I've been meaning to really give RA3 a true and honest try, but I think I'd rather just pretend that the RA games died with Westwood and RA2:YR was the last REAL RA game.

I won't lie to you, I had reservations about C&C3 when I first played them(there are two parts.... NOD and GDI).... but I've come to like them. C&C4..... not so much. 3 gives you the objectives, and some of them have to be done in order. 4 gives you no freedom within the game at all. Earlier games(when run through First Decade) run alright, but sometimes the pallete is off. That's a minor annoyance, but I can still play that way.

Personally, I like the older versions much better. It's good that they've finally called it quits, but probably should have done so earlier.

RA3 was pretty good. Also humorous.

If you don't have RA3, and want to give it a go, they are on sale this weekend for $4.99.

The chicks in RA3 are well worth it.

I almost picked it up, but didn't.
A friend has the game. I'll give it a try at some point, but I've bought so many games on steam that I have yet to play, lol.
