Cell phone e-mail address
If you own a cell phone, you have a e-mail for your cell phone. Basically, you send an e-mail to that address and the contents are sent as a SMS text to your phone. Here are the formats:
T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com Cingular: phonenumber@cingularme.com Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com I have found this surpremely useful. My bank, like many others, offers e-mail alerts when an action happens (a deposit clears, your account is overdrawn, money is withdrawn from your account, etc.). You put in any number of e-mail addresses and your bank will e-mail that address right away when somethin' happens. I have mine set to my cell phone so that I know when money is withdrawn from my account or if it goes over - an excellent tool at quickly stopping potential thieves or unwanted charges on your account. Who needs a Blackberry, anyway?

I wouldn't say Blackberry sucks. They have the cheapest data plan while minting a place on the top ten list of best reception and being the most durable data phone on the (American) market. I wasn't exaggerating that last part. I've seen the curve2 get thrown across a room into a brick wall, bounce onto a table, bounce onto a floor and then work 100% after that. I wouldn't say BlackJack sucks either for the record. I get battery complaints almost constantly, but other than that no one ever seems to have a problem with the thing. So as long as you conserve battery life you're in good shape. Back on topic though, That idea does work. It will cost your provider's text message and be in a slightly different format than a standard e-mail would be, but it's completely functional. So go team. |

I haven't found a site about it yes, so I would ask your respective carriers.
