tbh mate lets put things into perspective. i dont see my map being played mainstream - i havnt got a clue how to map, i just know how to use hammer. now dont go jumping the gun and expecting your maps to get many hours of playtime across the world, because it just wont happen. not yet anyway.

just keep mapping stuff out yourself, and keep it low profile. sure, put a thread up to get people to playtest it for you, but do so at your own peril.

Could you add ff_casbah to the list? I have begun remaking the basic architechture (the original Casbah was made horribly, He made alot of spaces with about 5-7 (or even more) brushes when he could have used 2-4 or whatever number of brushes, however this could be due to the limitations of the GoldSource engine). I also have some ideas on how to upgrade the map graphicly, and trying to come up for some imrovements game-play wise. But that is all for a thread for the map.

Added. For the love of God though, don't just replicate the old layout, it sucked. The bases don't have to be identical but for the love of God we don't need a five mile walk from the respawn to the base.

Ill keep that in mind, thanks. I have started already on the (blue? cant tell) spawn, but I will shorten the walk. That's one thing I did not like about casbah.

LOL you realise decompilers aren't perfect? In the case of hl1 decompiling, the brushwork is always completely fucked up.
