Anti-Cheat in FF

are there any forms of anti-cheating programs that can be used in FF?

and also i was wondering if someone has had their steam account banned would that person still be allowed to play in FF?

But if they are vac ban then no they can't play FF unless it is an uninsured server or different steam ID

There's no anti-cheat programs for FF atm. I know that during the early stages of FF, anti-cheat was going to be part of the mod. It just never happened, but I'm sure the devs will take care of it at some point. Your best bet right now is to run servers with sv_pure and of course, report cheaters in our forums with evidence.

Has not been too much of a problem in this game. If people need to cheat in FF then lol, that is all.

Though stuff like scuzz tools, they track down ip adress and connects steams ids but Scuzzy never made it public yet. I was ban from OT a few months ago cause Gator was ban. Though the guys at OT fix that for me already.

Though like Vatterin said, its not much of a problem in FF. Is this for a public server or what?

I run two pub server and never seen a cheater, exploits mostly

that's a good idea if he can get it working reliably (i assume you and gator don't really have the same ip?).

because you can never entirely stop ppl cheating in the first place, i think the best way to counter cheating is to have a centralised effective global ban/alert system that acts as a deterrent and stops cheaters messing up ppl's enjoyment once they're caught.

so, it would be great to have one official list of banned steamid's and all the ip's associated with each of those steamid's hosted on the FF site (that FF staff update when presented with evidence of someone cheating). when someone tries to join an FF server we could make FF check that your steamid isn't on this list (like it did in the beta, but the other way around), and if your steamid isn't on the list but your ip is on the list then it notifies everyone on the server that you have the same ip as banned player x which makes it really easy to spot hackers who just get a new account.

But yeah Right now Cheaters is not a problem in FF but once this mod becomes even bigger I am sure we are going to see cheater. Just like we used to see em back in 1.0

I haven't seen a single one, especially people who league and or play in Pickups.

Ok all this talk has made me feel guilty...I use cheats in FF, they actually make my shotgun miss and delays and speeds up my rocket release time randomly so I never know when my rockets will go off...
