Except the golfer was doing it on purpose, instead of it being a freak accident. So, really, there's nothing in common.

I doubt the golfer was trying to actually kill the thing, but he's an idiot for shooting balls into the tree in the first place. Also, that bird was stubborn as hell for staying in that tree even after balls were wizzing by and hitting the tree around it.

Oh well, he should have just gone up to the tree and rustled it out or something.

Tiger Woods is a big inspiration for many people. They put sportspeople on cereal boxes, blast them on the tele, they're spokespeople, etc.

negligence at best. at best he was trying to scare the bird away.... by hitting it with a hard, fast moving projectile, because it was interfering with his TV appearance.. at best.

Had the angle of the shot taken the balls out of bounds(and into the local neighborhood), and one of the balls hit some kid in the head and injured/killed them, then what?

He was being an asshole and now he's got to pay.
