OK...WTF is wrong with my mIRC???
I have used mIRC since early 2000 and now its fucking up. It used to work fine on my old computer. You DL from site, then pick a server and connect.
My New computer mIRC-- I dled and loaded it. Picked a server. (gamesurge.net) and hit connect. NOw i've only been able to connect to that server maybe hmm... twice in the past week, wtf!?!?!. I registered with gamesurge and authed my name when i connected the first time, but since then i have been unable to connect. IT will try connecting 99 times and then just stop. And everytime it doesnt connect it says (software caused connection abort). Can someone please help me figure this out, its driving me crazy. |

are you on wireless internet? mIRC will drop/not connect with the slightest drop in connection... with my personal experience. also make sure you have the latest version of mIRC. i know you said you "downloaded it and loaded it" so i would assume you have it. if none of this is the case try reinstalling mIRC. if that doesn't work make sure a firewall isn't blocking it (windows firewall, norton personal firewall, etc.). update your windows via windows update. other than that i am clueless. maybe someone else will know.

Try another server. Considering it's GameSurge you're trying to connect to, your story's not that surprising.

Try dropping mIRC and going for X-Chat.

Check your firewall, windows firewall, and other such hard/software that could be causinga problem. By defalt windows firewall will block everything but port 80...
