[Semi-Resolved, Fix inside] A shitload of problems...
Ok, here's the situation. I can't play FF at all. When I try to connect to a server one of several things will happen:
1) It will get hung up while loading the map 2) As soon as I go to pick a class, the game will crash with this error: Internal driver Error IDirect3DDevice9::Present(), or something similar 3) My screen will go black, and I will be unable to get picture back (must reboot) 4) I get to play for 2 minutes, then the audio will start looping and the game crashes 5) Same as 4, but it locks up the system instead 6) I get to actually play (rare) Now, lets run through a checklist of what I have done to try to solve these problems... 1) Uninstalled/Reinstalled drivers? Check. 2) Reinstalled DirectX? Check. 3) Set audio to medium? Check. 4) Tried the lowest settings? Check. 5) Tried recommended settings? Check. 6) Tried other Source games to see if I have problems there? Check. (No problems except for being unable to see chat in HL2DM, but that's another issue) 7) Reinstalled the game 12 times over? Check. Made sure all background programs are off? Check. I think I'm forgetting something else I tried, but it doesn't matter. I'm really at a loss as to what to do. I really want to play this game, but this is ridiculous. Anyone have any suggestions that I haven't tried yet? Can you go into your \source sdk base\ folder and post one of the recent .mdmp that are in there? Try and make sure that it is one that is actually from FF. This might mean creating a new one by crashing again...
Edit: What happens if you try and force the game into an older DirectX mode? |

Buddy, with that many problems, sounds like you need a good old fashioned reformat...

Update:
Apparently, apart from the audio looping bug, everything became fixed when I ran it in windowed mode. lol Already posted some .mdmp files in the other thread. Here's hoping for a quick fix! |
