S.T.A.L.K.E.R. arrives on March 22nd
Much hyped game to finally see the light of day
By Theo Valich: Tuesday 16 January 2007, 18:26 Ever since NVIDIA launched GeForce3 - over half a decade ago - gaming magazines and on-line rags have been announcing STALKER, a game set in an alternative reality in which the Chernobyl disaster is "a bit different" to that recorded by history. After the new Chernobyl explosion in 2006 (wasn't that last year? Oh wait, it was), a military zone has been set up preventing access to this area, and you find yourself inside the zone and become a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – basically, a scout for goods inside the zone. Under the tag line "Man Made Hell", S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl is hitting the streets on March 22nd, 2007 or a little bit more than one year after this imagined explosion happened. The game will offer yet-unseen changes between night and day, and some awesome weather effects. The graphics have been updated a bit, but this game looked more than awesome even back in 2001, so the Russian authors could have a potential hit of 2007 on their hands. Luckily for us, we'll only need to wait until the first day after CeBIT to find out. |
