Roku

Does anyone else have a Roku steaming box for Netflix?
I convinced the family to buy one, and they totally love it. While there aren't a lot of videos for myself, my younger sisters watch it nearly 24-7. If Hulu comes to the box, I would get another one in a heartbeat.

Hm, looks pretty sweet - it has HDMI & toslink optical (wish it had coax for audio, too).

It's a 1 time fee to buy this thing, right? (Then you just have to pay the monthly Netflix fee, correct?)

Are there any other similar digital video players like this that work with Netflix (that you know of)?

It's a one time buy ($99 USD). You do have to pay for Netflix (price depends on the plan). They recently added the Amazon Rental Service and it's now in HD as well.

Check out the steaming options before buying. There are more older films then recent. But there are a lot of TV options.

I haven't seen this box yet-- my family just used a spare computer and hooked it up to the TV.

The Roku box has such a SIMPLE GUI, it's great. My parents use it without problems and they are FAR from tech savvy. My sisters range in their skills but they all use it without a problem. The main problem is that 24 hours straight on Hannah Montana has the ability to MELT the brain of anyone in the near facility...

Yeah, we do this currently with Netflix instant watch - bring the laptop out and connect it to the TV. The only downside is not having a remote.

We set up wireless keyboards + a mouse for it. A bit bulkier than a remote, but still fairly convenient.
