Concing Question
In TFC, there's a bit of a delay (even on LAN) between releasing your primed nade and when it is actually released from you.
Will this be implemented into FF? It's a minor thing, but makes a huge difference. |

I think all this will be client side, so no lag at all. Not even as little as LAN.

That's not what I mean. There's a SLIGHT delay between releasing and the conc being released. Admin mod would sometimes screw it up and have the conc release right away.

I know what you mean by the delay, but ive never had a problem with it. Its consistant, and isn't that the only thing that matters?

I don't entirely understand the point of this question.

That little delay is an integral part of concing. And if you know what the elitist assholes are like, you'd know that if it was removed they wouldn't play, which would be a sizeable chunk of the community, which would result in FF being today's TFC community wise, which would then bring the Yellow Rapture.

Stupid question time, why is that delay integral to concing?
Are you talking about straight-up tap grenades, where you just tap the prime button? 'Cuz that still has a delay.

I think he's saying that you don't instantly see the grenade on your screen the second you click the mouse button. There's a "wind-up" before the throw, although very small.
So the skills community wouldn't be able to adjust if there wasn't that delay and they'd give up on the game entirely eh?

They don't want a hurdle thrown into their 100m dash.

If you open up the map through console ( map > mapname ), the delay is removed, but if you open up a map through 'Create Server' it remains.
I prefer concing with the delay. |

It makes a huge difference, and I'm referring to all people who use grenades. Which includes league players, which is a majority of what's left of TFC.
Snap?

the entity (Conc in this case) will only be created on the server at the time it is transmitted from the client...so thats usually 50-100ms. I'm guessing that's the delay you're talking about.
I don't know what preference for the delay you're talking about. People generally want that delay to be as small as possible I know I do, I hate priming a grenade and releasing it then immediately dying, only for the grenade to not release (and thus not kill a sg etc) due to said delay. |

um..i'm not sure i see the point of this or what exactly is being discussed. isnt the status of "skilled" or "elitist" earned by adjusting to and perfecting(to an extent) one or more aspects of the game? if there was no longer a delay would you not be able to adjust? am i close to what your getting at? i dunno maybe i'm wayyy off i just dont fully understand the point of this.

You're only elitist if you cling desperately to whatever you currently have.
