Anyone having problems with firefox?
For almost 4 years I have been using FireFox with no problems. Within months of downgrading to version 3, I am running into all kinds of problems.
I have just spent several hours trying to figure why my saved bookmarks and history are disappearing. And its not only me, wife on her computer is having the same problems. I have tried all of the "tips" that I could find, and the problems still exist. Favicons for bookmarks not being saved Bookmarks being deleted after firefox restarts - in all profiles |

I haven't been having this problem, although a while back when I upgraded to a version of firefox(don't remember which, it was a while back), I lost all my bookmarks. Try this to see if it works for you. Other things may or may not be here that help, but what have you already tried?

Have you tried reinstalling Firefox? Is there another version of Firefox on there with your bookmarks? Out of curiosity, what happens if you install Chrome, and tell it to import your stuff from Firefox? I'm not saying you have to use it, I'm just curious as to what it'll backup, if it gets bookmarks somehow, or if it grabs nothing.

This all started after I landed on an attack site. The site used javascript to open maybe 100+ browser windows in a few seconds. I had to ctrl - alt - del and end the firefox task. After that I had to go through and delete some of the core firefox javascript files, and then reinstall. |

Edit: Maybe its an extension problem? Try disabling them all?
Firefox profile is corrupt? Navigate to "C:\Documents and Settings\!YOUR USERNAME!\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" there will be a folder with a random string and followed by ".default" Move it somewhere else or delete it and then start firefox and see if the problem continues |

I've had no problems in XP, but sometimes when I close a tab, firefox crashes. I've had this in Kubuntu too.

I've had something similar to that happen in Chrome, sometimes when I click the home button, the tab I'm in closes.

The last time I had trouble with firefox was when I tried to use IE Tab .. apparently IE crashed and it took Firefox with it.

Installing the video chat program for gmail fixed it...
I guess it thought I had it from when i migrated my settings over. Installing it fixed all my crashing issues (so far). |
