And lets clear up the "Gaming Router" bs. All those have is a user friendly QoS interface so downloading/web browsing won't spike your pings by maxing your bandwidth. All Linksys routers sold now include this functionality and most don't cost 50 bucks extra. :P

mirv's got it right. It all just seems like "Hey! Lag isn't cool! Let's fight it!" and then they just throw vague information around. I don't think we'll see a decrease in lag unless we get rid of our copper infrastructure and replace it with fiber.
