I'm glad you got the Fileplanet "deal"

It gives Fortress Forever good publicity

Thank you for developing and releasing this wonderful mod!

Yeah I hope people understand why we went with the 'exclusive' deal with FP -- it gets the mod into more hands and, ultimately, that's what we want!

Thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy the mod.

Yeah, well done guys for making us wait 30 mins to download it plus we also get slow speeds unless we're a subscriber!
Thanks guys!

I am getting ~175KB/s from file planet. Torrent was sucky for me at ~20KB/s. And i am patient enough to wait half an hour in line for something like FF

Thanks for the FilePlanet hosting FF dev team!

It was either this option or you wait till Monday. Don't complain when everyone involved it getting this out has killed themselves this week to make it happen. If you want to wait for the torrent so you can get a fast dl, thats your choice.

Good call here. This is the kind of publicity you needed

The torrent was pretty good for me. The problem is a lot of people don't have their settings right

What exactly is in the Fileplanet deal? Do they give you cash considerations or other benefits in order for them to host the file exclusively?

If that's the case then I dont mean to complain but.... what I'm confused about is how you guys think it's better for US to host it exclusively at Fileplanet. It makes the release process for us slower. Whether you make a deal with Fileplanet or not, they're still going to host the file. I don't have any objections with you guys getting someting in return, because you deserve it, I was just confused as to how it could help us.

Granted, it's not THAT long of a wait and I sure can wait, but if anything, isn't it really only benefiting Fileplanet?

Even without the exclusive stuff, fileplanet would post news about the release. Heck, even moddb, and HL2Files would increase the popularity.. Exclusive was not needed at all, imo.
