Mad FF TF2 Prediction
Having read some of the debates about possible legal issues and competition between the mods/games, I've come to the conclusion that the most likely scenario will be that:
- FF will (hopefully) be released before TF2 - TF2 will be released with a source engine update for all mods - Said update will criple third party mods like FF |

Hah, even without any bad intentions from Valve's part, this could very well happen.
But yeah IBL. |

Been there seen that,
Remember dystopia valve update broke the whole mod (every mod) but the developers made it working again within the week. |

Certain SDK updates have already shown that valve is totally capable of doing this.

Well hopefully this new source engine base, where every mod is running off the same same thing, will fix that. I'm sure that Valve doesnt neccesarily want to go through every one of THEIR mods and fix them too. Thats what this new STEAM base is for (215?).

Remember that FF will drive revenue for Valve anyway so why would they want to stop it?
The more mods being played the more people buying HL2. |

just a side note not meant to start yet another conspiracy debate. its just that people saying TF2 and FF do not compete are in denial. By the same token Microsoft Office and OpenOffice would not be in a competition (if you think is the case you are wrong). |

But strangely we have a good relationship with Valve. We both did a bit of backslapping over both video releases.

I have a nagging feling that things between the devs and Valve are closer than most of us seem to think. I wouldn't be surprised if they send emails back and forth regularly, or even let a Valve employee or two have access to the Dev forum.
Any money that Valve would lose over FF, if any, would be miniscule, and they would most likely gain from it no matter what, with people buying hl2 to play FF. I for one haven't bought any source games or hl2, and don't plan on it until TF2/FF comes out(whichever is first.) And stop with the conspiracy theories... possible but not probable. |

Yea I agree with what u 3 have said.
I loved TFC and played it at a high level before being seduced by CS - I've been idling on the forums for about 1.4 year(s) - ever awaiting for a release of FF. The sooner we all get a beta copy of FF the better! I know we'll def host a server on our dedi box as soon as it becomes avail! |
