Well... to each there own of course. However the original recorded sample was edited and filtered to have this tinny and 'transit system' sound to it. Even my own family insisted that was not my voice when they heard it.

For those that have nothing to do, here are other unedited clips:

Good voice CatzEyes!

There's a hum sound that's kinda loud though.

Hey BritishTang, can you give me an idea of a sentence that would be used in FF? I'd like to try myself at saying stuff instead of just doing hit sounds but I have no idea what the voices would say other than Medic!...

"I need armor!" (Ad lib as neccessary)
"I'm infected!" (again)
*Mumble incoherently after being hit by a tranquilizer and infection* (Ad lib)

LOL! you found my end of the day "gotta make something comical to offset the seriousness of 3 hours of recording has done" recording!

And that loud hum annoys me too. Basically I dont have the best of microphones so there is definatly a hum that I cant seem to keep out of the recording without doing post recording prep to it. Over at Black Mesa, they have an excellent sound person that strips it out before the final product, but meanwhile it ticks me off to hear it in the vanilla recordings.

If you have a lamp on a dimmer on the same plug as your recoring gear, it could be just that.

If you havent already tried it, you should try recording with every light off in the room, see if it makes a difference.

Also, keep the mic far away from your speakers.

Yeah, stripping the hum out is cake. Long as the voice is quality, everything is fantastic.

I am I am! sheesh... keep your pants on!

Oh wait... I have a silly question from the peanut gallary. If you could write the script for a female voice you would want in game, what would she say? That is beyond the typical "Nerve gas released! Secure protective suit immediately" or "Your team captured a command post" what would you choose a female voice to say?

All silly and serious comments will be concidered for my application.

This largely depends on the style you want, do you want a really professional / cold script or do you want a more light hearted script?

PS if your doing VOX (announcer) could you do a UT style sexy announcer? you know you want to.
