There used to be a lot more players in v1.1 but they really screwed it up alot in v2.0 so no one barely plays anymore especially on pubs. A few of us are waiting to see if they make a decent v2.1 to play, otherwise this mod is kinda dead.

Anyway, it's mostly the lack of population that keeps me from playing. Sure there's some stuff I'd like to see different, but I think the mod is doing a pretty good job so far. I just wish they'd stop thinking of stuff like mancannons before everything is balanced properly.

If every people that say "i don play because the servers are empty" went to a serve, then we would have 10 full servers. I enter alone in a server and it gets pretty cool with lot of people joining, so that is not an excuse.

If you have the time, Play more and talk less.

That's a very good point. If people stop playing due to the lack of a playerbase, they are part of that cause. IF they play, the player base increases, and it gets bigger and bigger.

Ya, but tell me, would you rather go to a server that is full 99% of the time, or sit their by yourself *hoping* somebody might just join, let alone fill the server.

I would be proactive, and invite people on my friends list into my empty server, thus increasing the players in game by at least a few. If they do the same, you've got yourself a bunch of full servers.

Which is something {NFO} used to do a long time ago with "greasers" and you would see their server full on a regular basis.

The problem is that some of us have been waiting and playing for months for the base to grow and playing pubs and leagues on a regular basis and nothing changed. One by one it's widdled away. There are multiple reasons for that though:

1.) 95% of the playerbase for FF consists of adults. Alot of them have children and all of them work full-time jobs that can be demanding. My co-worker is gettin ready to go to jail so I've been preparing to do his AND my jobs combined for awhile now and I'm nowhere near ready to do so.

2.) The community can be quite dickly, myself included.

3.) Patience is hard to use when you see others lose it after a long, long time.

4.) Alot of people make playing FF out to be a responsibility and NOT a fun thing to do. "It's our responsibility to save the game". No. It's not.

But let me make one thing clear, this is NOT a dev problem. The game is great. Room for improvement? Tell me one game that doesn't have that. The game itself is not the problem. It's an age thing. Alot of us are starting to grow out of video games if we haven't done so already. Really, I get home most nights and just want to go to sleep.

amen to that. the main reason i dont play anymore is because im sick of the people that do (with a few exceptions). its not as fun as it was when the majority of the community wasnt a group of annoying twats.

That's pretty much the same. Now that I don't have parents barking down my neck and I've been living on my own for some time now, I'd like to form somewhat of a social life, you know, go to pubs, get stoned/drunk, get laid. Not saying FF is the kryptonite to those things, but sitting here on my ass all day gets tiring. I often find myself bored and wanting to do something productive. Hell, I've been wanting to get a gym membership for weeks now, and I keep procrastinating. That way, nothing changes, and I can live my life just coasting, just getting by.

Anywho, enough philosophical talk, the game is fun. And because of that, and because I've been following this mod since the week it was first shown to the public that it was going to be made, I feel like I'm a part of this, and I do have somewhat of a responsibility to do my part, even if it's only inviting a few friends over from Counter Strike or WoW...

I exercise WHILE I play FF. No joke. Needing to work out is NO EXCUSE!

I give people warnings and bannings for playing TF2 instead of FF on my forums. Also, whenever anyone mentions any TF game I tell them to go play FF. I think I'm helping the cause... although I agree that it's a barely vital cause with one foot in the grave.
