Consistently losing FF.exe
Hello, this has happened a few times now and is fixed by re-installing the Update, but I'm wondering if there's a more permanent fix.
I'm not sure what triggers it, but every once in a while I load up my steam and find the FortressForever "Third-Party Mod" link has disappeared from my games window, as well as the ff.exe (or whatever it is) gone from my SteamApps>SourceMods>FortressForever folder. I, of course, assume this is a major conspiracy by Valve to delete its competition for TF2 Anyhoo, thoughts? |

I've got a problem where the .exe is nowhere to be found after full install.
I've installed twice, one from DL off of Fileplanet and the other from a link off the homepage. The file is 652 megs.. so not a patch. Nothing wrong with install. Doesn't show on my game list when I restart STEAM and can't find it via "add non-steam game" as the .exe is nowhere to be found.. |

you guys searched the correct file path?
it's not in the folder where TF2 is in, it's in "Source Mods" or something like this. Otherwise try searching the whole steam folder. It's gotta be in there somewhere. |

Yeah, looked in the sourcemods folders. Apparently there is no executable, but should of been picked up by STEAM's game list and wasn't. Even after a restart.
I did some searching and someone posted the target for a FF shortcut for desktop. The path was a little different and I wound up putting in "E:\program files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -gameidlaunch 14222503773716086999 -game as the target Once I created that shortcut I double clicked hoping for a start, it showed "attempting to lauch Fortress Forever" (or something close).. then nothing happened. I then looked at my games list and BAM, there it was. |
