Thats what I mean by absurd, you can alias in league matches but can't on a public server.

Or whether they have read them at all. No tag = player either didn't read the MOTD or ignored it.

The original reason may be what bokko said, but it's useful for above reason, too.

Don't think I've read any MOTD since WON. Why would I bother, its fairly obvious which servers play clan style or pub style. The maps are generally a giveaway.

CTFCL is too strict in my opinion. The fact that you can't have more than 1 engy, can't choose pyro/sniper and the name rule mentioned above are all totally unnecessary in enforcing clan style play. Not that I care, just my opinion.

I know thats the most obvious one to go for ekiM, as if pyro/sniper were selectable EVERYONE would choose them and forget about playing normally :P
You don't need to totally restrict a class to get clan style play. Limiting them to 1 per side would be enough.

The fact that pyro can't be selected stops what exactly? People ever getting good with it for one. Sure, there may be players that decided to pick pyro and spam spawns. That is already possible with the spy (not so bad) and demoman (far worse). It may encourage the other team to select a pyro. But with only 1 per side I can't really see it ever getting out of hand.

With sniper, slightly easier to think that 2 players would disengage from the game and just shoot each other, nailing the odd offy. But does this really ruin TFC, or prevent a full clan style game? Not in my book. In fact I think it adds an element of fun and variety, people may be able to get decent with these 2 massively underused classes,

If people wished to choose sniper/pyro in a clan game they could, doing so on a clan style server should be possible, just limited to 1 per side. Anyone who even looks in the wrong direction gets kicked on CTFCL, saw an offy soldier being kicked on 2fort. An admin was defending on the other team (shocker). If the server is that strict, you'd think they'd be able to control any unruly pyros/snipers.

Again, just my thoughts.

Yes there is an entry message from one of our own clan members that warns the basics. (I actually met him this past winter... fab guy!)

As a side note, this server IS rather strict on the chat. So if you guys go to visit, just be warned that any bad behavior can get you banned. It is a very fun server that many like to join and play on... and that many have commented on the fact they are glad they can come to a clean place to play. If this isnt for you, no hard feelings. We all understand the need to let loose with a couple of blue words now and then... which is why our feelings are not hurt if you play someplace ELSE!

BTW... even *I* got the "Language please..." warning when I said "crap" the other day. LOL!

LOL! I dont think that would have passed either... I will simply start doing the spongebob squarepants curse words. I am sure I will hear some chuckles though when I start using words like "barnacles!" or "dirty barnacles" or "tartar sauce".

Catz, I can deal with a swear-filter, even though I still think it's really wierd to have a problem with swearing while people explode into viscera all around you, but is the really annoyig things it replaces your text with entirely necessary?

I mean, you may not be the one in charge of this and I don't pay for the server, but [dad] is just about the only really good server around (to my taste) and it'd be nice if it was closer to perfect.
