So basically all three files should be extracted into FortressForever folder inside the main directory of the game? With taking into account the FortressForever folder that is already inside of the two RAR’s.

no...all files in the fortressforever files should be extracted but not the Fortressforever file itself.

You should have your server looking like this:

yourip:27015/FortressForever/ then you should have a ton of folders;

bin
cache
cfg
maps
materials
media
models
README
resource
SAVE
scripts
shaders
sound
sprays

AND some files like:

gameinfo
fortressforever.ico
maplist.txt
etc.

Also take 82694 up on his offer as he is very good with servers.

Hi, me again. Sorry for double posting, need to flag this thread again.

One more questions, can I run FF with a Pingbooster on the game server? And can I set the game server to 66 or 100 ticket rates?

Thank you.

Pingboost, yes. ( I would asume)
However I've been told that tick rate MUST be 33.

What the fuck is a pingbooster?

It's not one of those magic network cards they tried making in the past, is it?

Max tick rate when first released was suggested 33. You can set your tick rate up to 66 but no more otherwise elevators and shit start killing everybody who touches them.

Thank you.

HLDS Ping Booster is a small tweak to the Half-Life Dedicated Server that drastically reduces player pings and generally makes the game much more responsive.

Technical explanation:
There is a small flaw in the way frame timing is implemented in HLDS. Basically your average HL server is just sitting idle about 15ms between every frame. This little tweak fixes that.

Well...............................

Since you are only passing location and game information while in online land via the servers the pingbooster helps by resolving the frame timing idle in the HLDS server.

It is crystal clear to me but I am a Network Engineer so "NO FAIR YOU SOB DARKEN MOFO HELLSPAWN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows naturally runs at a low FPS. By using ping booster or opening another application which increases your FPS (aka Windows Media Player), your servers FPS will rise to about 20 below your fps_max.

This can, however, increase CPU usage. On my college's TF2 server, ping boosting completely hoses the server down.
