FF_Cargo

A near-port of TF2's CP_Freight, a 5 point warpath style map. Alot of this map is still in dev textures because it needs to be play tested on a full server.

I'm not sure which "outside scenery" types I'll use, so please participate in the poll. Click on the picture for a larger version.


^ "Forest" would have some more trees


^ "Dustbowl" would have scenery similar to ff_dustbowl outside the play field

That S/B was temporary, I've changed it to the one in Dustbowl, as that choice hs the most votes at this point. I've done some work on the scenery around point 5 (Which will be copied to Point 1 and changed slightly for interest) and here are some in Hammer pictures of it:

Well, I'd like to get Alpha 1 out for Christmas, but I've just got a little snag. There's a small pool of water at points 1 and 5, that both do this:


but when I crouch below water level, it's fine


I'm using the ff_hunted/ff_water_sewer if it makes a difference

Ye its one of 3 things that is happening there, leaks or you compiled it with no vis or you moved that sphere thing from the midle of an entity.

It was the leaks. I'm putting in a few important things to the map and it should me available by the end of the day.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Some of the displacements aren't connected well, bu they're temporary
There are no moving trains as of yet.

hey i havent played this in an actual pub game or anything however i did run around ingame just to check it out. seems like when u cap a point it should take a few seconds to capture the point instead of just running over the point and BAM!! CAP. also it seems like you worked pretty hard on this map and everything looks pretty decent but i just think some of the textures really need some work.. not sure if u were planning on changing thoes ff_dev textures out or not. IMO i wouldnt have released this alpha version at all. to me it seems like you might be giving up on it or something. why not just spend another week or so on the map, get it to an almost finished state then release a beta version or something? keep working on it :P

dont use capital letters in map names plz that mess up the downloads a lot of times... In server as FF_Cargo_a1 then goes to dl server as ff_cargo_a1 then u get diferent map version ftl...

Yes, I'm planning on removing the dev texutures, I just wanted to get the layout tested before I went into too much detail so I wouldn't have to rip out a lot if a major change was needed.
