We were originally going to try and get some anti-cheat stuff built in (as in, stuff above and beyond the usual mod file-checks etc) but since billdoor (our most knowledgeable anti-cheat coder) is no longer active, we had to shelve the plans, unfortunately. It's something we will definitely consider in the future, but at the present time we don't really have the manpower / expertise to implement anything great.

I'm not gonna write a big list of ways that wall hax and other cheats can be used to great effect in TFC, needless to say though, you've not thought it through properly.

Wallhacks are great for defenders so they can see offense coming before they can hear them, and pre-fire rockets or begin revving up their AC.

And by great I mean bad. Very very bad.

Remember the spec hack? That was a hoot.

I mean, uh, that was terrible and everyone using it should be flogged.

There's no denying cheating will give someone an advantage but not to the same level as in a game such as CS.

The spec bug was funny at first everyone had a few laughs out of it and then it became satan.

The really funny one was the bug (can't remember exactly) that let the Spy (maybe other classes too) have a sniper rifle. You could disguise as a enemy sniper and sit up there and snipe with them. Its been so long I don't even remember how it was done or what all it included I just remember me and some friends on lan had a ball with that.

You mean...

Code:
alias hax "team 1 ; sniper ; team 2 ; spy ; team 1 ; sniper ; team 2 ; spy"
bind l "hax ; hax ; hax ; hax ; hax ; hax"
And then spam l while running forward?

Could do it with any class. Even Scouts with ACs . It was fixed with Steam.

Cheating in a game you dislike is just as lame as cheating in a game you love. Lamewad.

I'm also more liable to think you'd cheat in TFC since you have cheated/are cheating in another mod on the same engine.

On blueyonder (sigh those were the days), if you cheated on one hl mod, not only were you banned on the mod you cheated on, but all the others too. Was ace.

A cheater in one game is just as lame as a cheater in another (in multiplayer of course)

I cheated in Contra! (2 player!)

But yes, people who somehow think it's ok to cheat in CS 'cause it "suxX loLz!@," are dumb.
