Stuttering in bioshock

i've recently got bioshock, and it stutters like crazy. Also, some of the water is opaque and flickers to refraction. im in medical pavillion, i needed to find a save as a CRC error was for the 1-welcome.bsm, and i could play lighthouse part, but couldnt go to the Welcome part. If anyways has bioshock, Would you kindly upload it somewhere, PM it to me so i can play normally?

Also, bioshock as some pretty bad stuttering on my end. Ill open up a door, and it stutters like crazy, REALLY low FPS, then goes back to normal. If i leave the room, thru the same door, huge stuttering. Sometimes it subsides a little if i go thru the doors alot, which leads me to belive it's something about precache maybe?

That makes no sense at all but if it means what I think you mean then that might fall under piracy but not sure

Sounds like your video card is overheating

I have no idea what he's saying either, but to me it sounds like a setting problem for the graphics, at least the stuttering part does. If that doesn't fix anything, reinstall it. Help us help you, what have you tried already? Can you still think after the shock that I'm actually trying to help?

No, im missing a single map file in my game. My CD was corrupted i think. A single map file doesnt count as piracy, lol. All i need is the 01-welcome.bsm.

How'd you get the game? If you bought it from the store, explore the CD a little and see if you can find that file, if you got it from steam, it's under /SteamApps/common/. If you got it some other way, you're out of luck.

However, do what I said, and re-install the game. A fresh install might fix it. As for the stuttering, we've been trying to help you fix that, and a new map file won't fix that, graphics settings will(if graphics are the cause of the stuttering).

No, the map file is what im missing. i cannot get farther than the beginng sphere. I got it from a CD. Like i said. Does anyone here have this game?

Do what I say god dammit! Have you reinstalled the damn thing? What have you done besides ask for the map file? When all the options have been exhausted, we'll help you in the way you want, but the way I've been suggesting is by far the easiest.

i did. i reinstalled 3 times. did nothing. the setup.cab doesnt match the contents on the disk. i need one map file. thats it. just one file. could you just give it to me.

Why don't you just take it back to where you bought it and tell them that it doesn't work?
