I hate Dell so much. As soon as Vista came out they put it on every system and you couldn't buy an XP system from them. Now they are against Vista all of a sudden; sorry everybody who bought a computer at that time, guess you got fucked by Dell. I hope Dell goes bankrupt, but I know it never will

(and no I didn't buy a Dell vista system, I have a Dell from years back that continually disappoints me)

I dunno, I guess I just like change and new things. I have Vista and I haven't really encountered anything note-worthy about it sucking yet.

I guess bashing Vista is just the cool thing to do now.

Same... the only problem I've encountered in my use of Vista is lack of drivers from Creative for my X-Fi card.

I will not even go near that Vista shit. When they break all of the stupid DRM shit after Service Pack 1 comes out, then I might think about using it.

While we can hope that they will clear the DRM stuff I suspect they will try to figure out how to retain some of it. I think that, in typical Microsoft fashion, SP1 will be buggy and incomplete. It's already delayed which is keeping in their grand tradition.

My ONLY complaint about vista came from when i beta tested it. Something with their file security made mirror copies of files.

Like if you used Photoshop to explore files (you know, goin to "Open or Save File") and then save an item there it would be in the folder you saved it in. but use windows explorer to go there and delete that file.... go back to photoshop and its still there... but not visible using explorer now.

Like they made a mirror of all files somewhere that programs use. Disabling the security stops that. Which is lame, the security shouldnt prevent me from deleting files and having them really deleted.

i know eventually Vista will work... arlight. but the interface of XP is way less complicated for your average user to wrap his brain around. i could not imagine my father sitting at this computer trying to get files via windows explorer i would get called into the room every two seconds.

XP is probably going to be around a lot longer

Thats what people get for buying a brand new operating system from microcrash.

Anyone here old enough to remember windows 98 1st edition? It was a piece of junk. It was so bad its not even supported anymore - read the labels on software, windows 98 second edition is listed, but not first edition. 98 first edition was a major embarrassment for microcrash in 1998.

Anyone here remember Windows millennium edition? It stayed on the market for a few months before it was pulled. Millennium was almost as unstable as windows 98 first edition.

Anyone have an original edition of XP before service pack 2? Talk about an unstable piece of junk.

But people still buy the newest trash from microcrash.

As for myself, I use Windows 2000 - noted by PC magazine as the best operating system microcrash put out.
