hm

I am having some monitor problems - So if there is anyone out there that might be able to help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Now, my monitor used to work fine. It's a Samsung 900DF. I went to go update through this shitty option that said update thru XP and it pretty much just screwed things up essentially. Every time I restart my computer, the settings change to 800 x 600 and in 8 bit color... So every time I restart I have to change them back to 1024 x 768 - 32 bit color. It never seems to save the changes no matter what I do. I also noticed that the graphics such as buddy icons on AIM cannot be seen correctly. They are all garbled looking and they have all these weird multi-colors on them... I can play TFC fine though. No video problems or anything. Anyone know whats wrong here?

One of my sisters computers had this problem although that computer had 98. It just happened one day for her. (They have killed 5 computers in the past few months...)

Have you tried updating your videocard driviers? It seems like a software problem, NOT hardware. Try re-setting up your moneter inside widows...

It's not your monitor, its drivers. Try un-installing and reinstalling your display drivers

Mine switches to 8 bit color everytime I start steam. But once I play a game and return to windows...it goes back to normal. But this does prevent me from using hammer at all.
