I think I've only laughed twice at the Simpsons.... whereas I guffaw every new episode of Family Guy.

Stewie: I say! Is there any traction left on the tires or is like throwing a hotdog down a hallway?

ROFL!

this reminds me of another thing I hate about MySpace. people seem to think putting down liking things like the simpsons or family guy somehow shows how 'unique' they are when it really just shows that they are boring. i mean, who the fuck *doesn't* like those shows? they aren't even worth mentioning. and in terms of finding shared interests with other people, it's like saying "ooohhhh I like breathing, too! we have soOo much in common!"

-------------

My favorite cartoon is actually on Nic. It's Avatar: The Last Airbender. Anime fans should *not* miss this show. I've watched all 20 episodes of Book 1 (season 1), and it's a wonderful series. Great animation, developing characters, and a good - and sometimes dark- story. Book 2 premieres Friday the 17th. Here's a small teaser trailer for the series.

Quote:
When the hostile Fire Nation threatens to enslave the Water, Earth, and Air Nations, a reluctant and irresponsible boy must face his destiny as the Avatar, the Chosen One who can restore the world order. This new animated series centers on twelve-year-old Aang, who must forgo his selfish wandering to learn to master his latent powers over the four elements. Only then can he conquer the Firebenders, the evil magi who threaten the world.

The DVDS of the first part of Book 1 are available, though tbh I may just wait for a box set. You can also find torrents of Book 1 in you look around, of course, which is how I got it. I'd feel guilty, except I know damn well I'm buying the dvds eventually. Illegal Downloading: Best. Advertising. Ever.

Excellent series. Too bad they're so slow to release new episodes. Oh well, I'd rather have great, slow releases, than mediocre, quick ones.

Hmm, sounds like FF

This poll is invalid due to the lack of a choice clearly offering Samurai Jack.

In any case, there's SOOOOO much out there especially when you cross the line from "cartoon" to "anime".

Actually, I like that one too but it's only been via channel surfing that I stumbled onto it and since my son doesn't seem to like it we end up in a battle for the remote...or I go about making dinner and he watches something else...

Avatar was pretty cool. What little I watched, anyway.

someone here said captain murphy died while shooting one of the series, so i doubt there will be anymore, as he was the protagonist. he still lives on in my avatar.

They replaced him with that yutz no one liked for a few episodes, but I don't think they'll bother taking it back up without the Cap'n.

Hmmm... with current toons, I'd have to say Avatar: The Last Airbender.

As for Anime, that's a different story...

Coming soon to a movie-theatre near you: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=22599

"King of the World" James Cameron is making it, with doing it stereoscopically, presented in 40+ fps thanks to digital projectors!

Space Ghost Coast to Coast is my favorite show, animated/anime/otherwise, although you beat me to it, Sobe!

I'm glad someone mentioned Zim already too. (The Tak episode was the best)

I voted simpsons though 'cause it was on all through my adolescence. Ah, good times.

Also,

I'm a fairly big fan of anime, but this trew up some red flags. ^^
