Yes I've read that way back when Episode One was the only one out. If you want to tell me HL3 will not be one day released I'll laugh and when HL3 does come out I'll be right. Until then you can't prove or disprove that.
The only way it becomes 100% true is if Episode 3 ends the Half-Life storyline. |

Catz, you can play it multiple times. I just played through once so far and to get the rest you can just go back and start a new game/restart a level.

Often times, aren't the middle episodes used to get in-depth information about the plot and characters? I thought thats how books/magazine-newspaper short stories/novels/comics/tv episodes/mini movie series/6+ hours movie ala matrix, normally approached mid episodes: to provide depth and flesh everything out? |

Well... I went back to the beginning of the mines where all those grubs are, and my ratio reset from 324/333 back to 0/333. So I guess I will want to play that part over and over and over till I finally complete the grub challenge by getting all 333. Once I complete it though, is it hard locked? can I then go back yet again to the beginning of the mines again without loosing the 333 challenge?

On the steam forums there is a wonderful post that details how many grubs are in what section. I would link you to it but the steam forums are blocked to me here at work. Go look for it though and you will find it. I am using it as a guage. One grub was hiding in a locker at the beginning of the area. BAH! that was a dirty trick!
Oh... and it looks like once you complete a challenge and you have it locked in, it wont erase simply by going back and redoing the game from the beginning. :whew!: I was unsure up till last night. However anything that was not completed yet WILL get reverted back. Example, I went back to work on my grubbing again, and my "kill by throwing things at your enemies" went from 25 of 30 back to 3 of 30.

Does anyone find the achievements that are realllllly simple a little bit of an insult? Like, "survive the hunter attack"
I mean, you kind of HAVE to survive the hunter attack in order to finish the game. You don't really have a choice unless you just give up and stop playing when you see them. There are a lot of these. |

Yeah a lot of the achievements are like that, where it's something that's part of the story and you get it automatically. I definitely don't think Episode 2 was pointless, closing that portal was pretty important. I missed 2 damn grubs on my first run through.

One is in the locker at the beginning of when you first start to deal with grubs, and the last one is hiding behind a wooden wall (that a big bad antlion mommy tries to break through) just after you alyx and the vort leave the mine shafts.

h1 = great game worth money spent hl2 = great game worth money spent hl2: ep1 & ep2 = not worth money spent = all models and most textures already reused from hl2 so = no effort on product produced = paying for extra maps with no plot and bad acting |

How you can say that all your paying for is extra maps with no plot. There is in fact a plot. There is also a storyline, and a premise which is independant from HL2 and Ep1. There are also, in fact, new textures, lighting effects, shadow effects, and other other graphical abilities that were not in the original game. That's not opinion by the way, those points are solid, true, facts. So to ignore them is like ignoring the ground. To say they are not true, is wrong. You're either lying or indredibly stupid. Anyone can have acess to these facts simply by opening their eyes and reading. Or just looking at the damn game while you play. Soft shadows, self shadows multiple light sources, I mean come on they're everywhere. I'm not trying to be rude, but I see this argument all the time. You've got every right to your opinion, but don't make up truths to justify it. Tell us what it's really based on. Because if you're saying that the only reason you don't think it's worth the money is because "all your paying for is new maps" then you've gotta rethink that, and change it, because it's just flat out factualy not true. |

Lol. What's worse is the 'acid reflux' so called 'achievement'. Kill an antlion worker. Hilarious.

Too many of them are laughable. They may as well give you an achievement every 20 seconds for not dying. |
