If anything, SC2 will make it easier for the foreign scene (non-koreans) to get into progaming. It's a whole new game, and also there's a lot of politics involved -- Blizzard is trying hard to wrestle control away from Korea.

That said, I'm not sure if SC2 will hold the same allure. Yeah, SC1 needed a long time to fix balance and work out all the kinks...but for the current generation of gamers, who hop from game to game, it could be too long a wait.

There are quite a few differences between sc1 and sc2 mechanically, it's more similar to wc3 in terms of mechanics but closer to sc1 in gameplay.

I've downloaded the client ahead of time but I need to wait for a beta invite to be able to log in to bnet. Unfortunately that's a bit farther away than I had hoped.

From watching live play, I'm not sure I'll buy it. I wish they'd make a public beta like HoN so I could at least try it a couple times.
