To give you some insight into the concept process we've also uploaded a composite showing some of the ideas that go into concept creation.

Lmao ^^ these are very beautiful. I love how rebo put the "maniac" back into the class . I'm not too sure about the trenchcoat part, only because it gives yet another thing for those groups against violence in videogames to point at, but yes, quite beautiful.
Oh, but one small question, as it isn't shown in the concept progress picture: Will just the color be changed for the alternate version, or will his clothes/hair be slightly altered as well? (A tinted mask is the first thing that comes to mind, another being a lack of trench coat [or shorter style jacket]) Keep up the amazing work! *giggles fangirlishly, awaiting the next announcement* EDIT: Misinterpreted the term of "concept art" before writing my question, oh dear ^^; I'm sorry. Creating two completely different "alternate" models would probably bog you all down with more extra work than you need anyhow, to say the least. An idea if you happen to get the time for it, though :3 |

Yea you've got it Folia, the idea of concept art is to try ideas out and experiment, some none or all of the ideas may make their way into the final model/Textures.

... after staring at the unskinned model for a good 10 minutes straight, I still can't figure out what that is he has on his waist. Is it a chastity belt of sorts? Quite a way of telling the rest of the classes that pyro won't be as rapeable, if so *tilts head and continues pondering*
And thanks for the speedy response earlier, rebo (and for not biting my head off after that semi-silly question ) |

That kicks ass! Can't wait to see it skinned and to see what the rest are gonna look like. Think we can get a hint of which we'll see next?
I did a some sketches for the character classes over the past few days after discovering this site, if Rebo or any of the other staff don't mind I'd love to post them. Hate to put all that work into them and not show them to anyone. |

wow awsome... one question how are you going to pull of the hose to the flamethrower?
Are you going to have to make two models (just for pyro). One without hose that has flamethrower hanging on back or something like that that can hold the rest of the weaponmodels... and one model which has the flamethrower drawn and the hose being a part of the model and being animated as part of the model. Or is it possible to have a ropeentity between the two (weapon and playermodel), I might imagine that this might look very ugly. Well it will be interesting to see how you pull it off. |
