It just seemed like Lost was looking for any reason he could think of to toss a jab out at TF2 to me.

Ha ha, you say them "not allowing" addons like it really matters. Microsoft does not "allow you" to hack their Windows but Vista was already broke less than a week after it went retail. Come on now.

its 3d party perriphials, dude, not some unknown hackers. as soon as someone makes a keyboard that works with a 360 theyll go after them and force them to shut down.

I would assume it's a hardware issue thus making it harder to crack.

It's simply up to the dev's to enable it's use in games, any USB keyboard/mouse works with the 360, it can be used instead of the on screen keyboard.

I see what you're saying, but I think the key to what makes a game worthy of Fortress is much less in the details and much more in the high-level design;

1) Varied, unique classes (preferrably the original 9)

2) CTF as a primary game mode, with other game modes supported

3) Arcadey, fast, unrealistic feel (and as a result, allowance of some "skill moves")

If classes have no grenades, all different weapons, but the -roles- are intact, then I'd consider that a fresh outlook but the same basic idea. The problem with not enough change in a sequel this high profile is that you'll run into the same pitfalls. Balance is an ongoing project in any game, with Starcraft beingt the only arguably balanced game played today, so things like invincibility, etc may be overpowered to begin with. The key lies in their ability to adjust it quickly, correctly, and effectively.

I'm very excited about TF2 because of the new gameplay possibilities it presents. Whether those end up being there or not remains to be seen.

holy crap invincibility sounds really broken in clan play then.

hurt and heal him through water tunnel or outside enemy base, get 10 sec invul, conc through to flag, get it out of security at least

second run get it all the way out

From NORRIS' second article:

# Medics can heal disguised enemy spies.
# Well is now a train yard, and is also a control point map.

I bet their well doesn't look as sweet as FF's well. And a TC map? FOR SHAME! of course, I'll save my judgment until I see it.

I always find it funny when people mention StarCraft alongside TF.

Did you know someone made a TF mod for SC? I haven't played it but it seemed interesting.

Bah, a train yard? I hate the CS:S re-creations of CS maps, i'll probably hate the TF2 recreations of TFC maps. I believe that with the changes Valve have made there will be a bigger seperation between TF2 and FF which is a good thing as it means there is room on the market for both games (Think CS 1.6 & CSS, but a bigger gap between them) This could be somewhat bad for the communities but I think it'll all work out in the end. Now to just get both of them released

Medics do not infect anymore. I think the fact that they can heal disguised spies is pretty cool.

I guess you missed the series of posts in other threads where people were crying about that one. I can't get to the interview now (thank you content filter at work) but the reasoning behind that is that they always have tried to get people to work together. However, being infected means that you should stay away from teammates which is the opposite of what they were trying to accomplish.
