My buddie's band. They need a bass player badly, and when their computer gets fixed they can post newer songs. |

I like guitars
Two Gordon Smith strats... one is poplar with an A2 JB in the bridge stock neck, the other is mahogany with a C-5 bridge (don't like it) stock single in the mid, and a jazz neck. An Ibanez RS540 I got for the price of a Squier as it's over 20 years old but still playing and sounding great.. got a custom in the bridge and a fred in the neck (sounds too fat in the neck I'll change it one day) Bass is a Patrick Eggle Milan IV - If anyone knows anything about that instrument, let me know. I only got it because it was way better than anything in the price range.. it was s/h and very little info on it seems to be on the net. Very nice bass though imo. Ibanez AEM 28 acoustic, swapped the bridge pins out for ebony ones.. guitar is too middy sounding, not the best tone on earth but it gets played to death as my practise axe.. the other acoustic was my sisters tangelwood before she quit, now I use it for CGCFGC (DADGAD a step down) total pos pickup in it but it doesn't sound half bad acoustically for the price... On the way soon a new neck for my beat to fuck Ibanez RG570, hate the wizard neck profile it's too thin... I think I liked it for about 2 or 3 months then began to despise the thing Unfortunately I'm still using a Flextone II XL, but hope to upgrade to a nice tube head + 2x12 combo (for portability, otherwise I'd get a halfstack).. I quite like the sound of Engl stuff, but after hearing Paul Gilbert in Liverpool last night maybe Laney is worth a shot (yes I know a good player makes stuff sound better but the tone he was getting was close to the kinda tones I want to get). I'm into a lot of instrumental music, sorry for not having taste .. Satch and Gilbert are faves.. Becker and Lane also are amazing. If there are any Satch fans on the board that can put up with a bit of clipping on a video (6.8 meg) I covered Love thing a while ago http://s64.yousendit.com/d.php?id=2G...O2DBVK7DZCS2S0 I even wore a hat Sorry for the clipping on the vid.. it just seems to pop every few seconds Wah was a Morely Power wah/volume thing |

im personally after a peavey 5150, be it a 4x12" half stack, or a 2x12" combo. the sound from those amps is superb. peavey amps are used by the likes of all my favourite bands :D

The only Mesa amps I like are the F series.. I tried a rectumfrier a while back and didn't get on with it. Seemed solidly built though. I've heard a lot of good stuff about Rivera, just haven't found one to try yet |

Orange stuff.. the Rockerverb (that looks like the one that might suit me) I would like to try if I'm thinking of the right amp, but haven't yet found one.. only ever seem to find the other series (AD?) in shops. Not really anything by Hiwatt or Kustom that interests me tbh. I know I like Engl stuff, so that's a start I'm mostly a metal player tbh, from Maiden through to Megadeth to more modern heavy stuff like Opeth and Darkest Hour.. I like a nice defined crunchy sound, not too much bass or too buzzy a gain tone... My bass amp is shite, it's a 1x15 sound city 30 watt thing I got for like £30 I think.. I just use it for jamming along to CD's or whatever. When I record I pretty much just it plug straight in or use the 1x15 cab model on guitar port (which is an ok tool for recording considering the price) I'd love to buy a nice bass amp rig, but I can't justify it being a guitarist first and having not enough cash to support PCs and guitars as it is |
