id rather a trike glider. at least that wont get ripped by the wind as badly as a parachute.

True enough however the creation this Russian has come up with is something I find interesting. Perhaps I am mistaken though...the parachute gives possibilities that the rigid wing cannot match. Perhaps it is better suited to where he is?

lol i would just feel safer with a rigid wing, knowing its not as much at the mercy of the wind. my logic might be backwards, but at first glance it would appear rigid is safer.

Granted, but since the Russian dealy is so lightweight, a couple extra pounds won't kill the thing.

I'd have a charge-deployed emergency parachute for it. First one gets tangled/cut/busted up? Break it away and shoot out a backup.

That crossed my mind too...but you want to quickly pencil out rate of descent vs typical altitude and contrast that to reaction time AFTER you realize you need it. I suspect there isn't enough time for it to be useful in most situations. By the time you realize you're in trouble it's already too late.
