hl2.exe crashes upon joining a server

This is such an annoyance, basically whenever I join a server the game crashes.
If I create my own room it will not crash but whenever I join a server it will crash.

What is the cause of this?

can you be a little more specific as to what exactly is happening. Is it crashing or is it just freezing or what. When exaclty does it freeze, like what is the location of the loading bar, etc.

The more info you give us the better / easier it will be to help.

What are your specs?
Does this happen with other source mods?

The server I connect will load up and the game will start, then when I spawn as a player the game stops for a second then it will crash. No it does not crash with any other sourcemod.

hit the steam link in my siggy. this is a diagnostic tool for steam checks for conflicts. And gives me 5% of Dr.Satans bandwidth every time it's clicked.

lol the way this computer is running, I need one that will gimme RAM! I'm so sick of trying to run off of 1g it's not even funny.

lol if I had the money I would have a long time ago. ...but with a kid on the way and parole, I'm so broke it's not even funny. Like seriously I have wanted some forever. In fact there was even a thread here at one point where people were gonna get me a paypal account and help out, but I left I think. Would link but I can't find it.
