Adding emots
Would be very cool to add body emotions to the game like WoW or EQ and the other MMORPG.
I know the FF programers could do it. Also it'd be something that I have not seen in any FPS. |

You could do that in Quake3 with taunt. It's crap.
What I would like to see is, like in Q3, a little speech bubble above a players head when he is typing, so that you KNOW when someone is typing. Bugs me when you kill someone and they say "Hey I was typing, nub". Actually, it doesn't really, I just think "oh well" and carry on, but would be a nice touch. Might need a time limit e.g. you have to be doing it for 3 seconds before it appears, otherwise binds could be shafted. It may have also helped if I'd mentioned it 2 years ago rather than a few weeks/months before release. Hopefully someone has already got there! |

People need to stop typing in games it isn't IM. It irritates me so that I have no text sound and I sometimes hide the text altogether.

I think taunts and crap would get annoying really fast, but I'd be happy to see some things like pointing emotes. Like pointing up/down/foreward.
*point* (you) *point* *point* (go there) It'd be fairly useless in matches where everyone should be talking to eachother, but it'd be great for fostering teamplay on pubs. I've actually wanted to use a feature like this countless times during play. |

But this has all been discussed before.
Normally I hate the argument that something shouldn't be included because it'll delay release, but I think in this case adding whole new model animations would be a significant time investment just when the team is trying to iron everything into a releasable state. Also, from what I'me hearing, model animations are already one of the things holding up the release. But as for a future patch... Edit: Wahay! 4444 posts! |

Oh yeah, animated taunts are boring; I much prefer text-based taunts : )

Those kinda animated emotions always seemed to me to encourage idiocy, someone abuses it too much, other players get pissed off, game degenerates.
Edit - This is quite clearly a suggestion, there is a forum for this stuff. |
