Forgive us for not cancelling our holiday to get a video out. Nobody wants to wrap up FF more than the developers. We have nothing to gain by screwing around and taking our time on purpose.

I agree it would be nice for more media updates, and we've been talking about them alot internally. I'm not sure what is holding them back. Lately quite a few people have been short of time.

What angers is me most is that although I have not posted very much in the forums, I have been a lurker for quite some time (nearly since the announcement).

The thing I don't understand about this mod is why the dev team don't post more media updates. It gives them more press, more fans, and more gamers heads turned this way. Were not asking for amazing ss similar to those from Halo 3, just some simple screen shots.

Ill wait for the release info to hit digg.com, but my lurking here is down as of the end of the week.

However! I think we can all agree that the best thing to build FF's community would be to release FF. The ratio of the number of people who check the FF site, or even the catacombs, halflife2.net, hlfallout, etc. compared to how many people play HL2 / Source-based / or TF mods is so small that in the grand scheme of things, IMO updates (especially static & non-video) will do little to nothing when it comes to community building. That's not to say I don't value those who have been following our progress (or apparent lack thereof ) along the way, because I do. I'm just saying that finishing FF and releasing it is pretty much infinitely more important than putting together updates.

All that said, I think we should still update the site more frequently and I'm going to make that happen. I just think most people dramatically overestimate the community-building value of said updates.
