Should Bunny Hop stay or leave FF?
BHOP is an advantage against the noobs who are the only hope for FF to grow.

Bhop is also one of the classic aspects of Team Fortress that any older player would hope to look for.

I think you deal with it. All of us were n00bs at one point in time. If anything the old timers should foster a helpful attitude towards the n00bs. Help them learn. Personally I never bhopped. Glide hop only.

I think that Bhopping is going too far when it is the most desirable form of movement over running. Might as well program the game to auto hop and have a special run/walk key. Combat just seems so clownish with two people bouncing around in circles trying to shoot each other.

ok...that's cool.
FF shall stay in it's present status....it's an elitists game and will only appeal to the the elites which isn't many people. EDIT: i like the idea of the noob server/server's that's been talked about. Those servers should have peeps in it that have the ability to teach noobs and not own them...lol Last edited by s0undch4s3r; 12-27-2007 at 08:05 PM. |

Wouldn't bother playing if those exploit style skills weren't there. Though supposedly it's like it isn't there anyway because it's so slow.
Eradicate concing and rocket jumping...also remove weps just leaving classes with melee weapons. edit:This is what/was what true TF was all about, those unintentional? skills. What's the point if it all went? Would just be a regular game (TF2). Don't like it then don't play it simple as. Lazy post, cba, dull discussion. Yawn. Last edited by Paft; 12-27-2007 at 08:13 PM. |

Almost everything is "unfair" to a newbie to any game. Instead of finding a way around it or learning to do it, they just complain about it. If it is part of the game, it's going to happen no matter what. Taking it out of the game will only lose players who have learned to love it.

*Waves to Hired-gun* How ya been?
OP has to define BHOP before I will vote in the poll. The bounciness and air control of FF is really fun. I like trimping down inclines. However, IMHO major speed gains should be dependant on weapons and map geometry. No one should be able to break class speed rules any time they want. Why? because it's not tactically interesting. If I'm trying to defend against a constant bhopper, I know he'll be going by at high speed, wherever I meet him. Boring. If he's just using concs to speed around, That's a limited resource and I can try and meet him where he is NOT concing. Nobody complains about the front door launcher on Aardvark. That's not because anyone can use it, it's because it's limited to that one spot and you can plan around it. If people could launch themselves around like that any time they wanted, it would change the game, in a very bland way. |

Drivel. tl;dr?
In TFC Bunny Hopping is much mo funking fun. Once you can do it well it's like a passion and you strive to be better and faster.
It's a skill that's easily lost and you need to be wired and focused to do it well, if not you mess the rhythm up or struggle even get a rhythm like me most times. As it's been said most people are against it because they cannot do it... but in truth wish they could. An example of these people are the [O-T] "clan"/server which is an anti-bhop server. I followed a friend to that server (wouldn't even think about playing on there normally and I don't go on servers out side Europe anyway).. he left after after a few mins so it was just me and two [O-T] chaps.. There was an [O-T] player as hw jumping in a straight line through my base....now hold on, bunny hopping isn't acceptable but a FAILED attempt at gaining speed (which is none btw) (bhop mimic) is alright. I had to tell myself to stop bshopping because it's very natural especially because it's the only game I play. I must have only done a few hops that I as aware of on the balcony on 2fort and was banned. Fair do's, rules are rules. I wasn't intentionally trying to break them and take the mic I might add. |

Bhop must stay :<.
You want bhopless gameplay? Go play any of those new, ultra-supa-dupa-realistic graphics, war-oriented, slow-moving FPSes that are popular right now. |

So the elitists have voted...26 so far.
When FF was first released, there were over 100+ "22 player" servers PACKED with players. That's 100 X 22 = 2200 people+ playing the game at one time. It's too bad that those 2200+ players can't be here to vote..would be interesting to hear what they have to say. Not just the BHOP but other things. |

Bunny hop doesn't provide a poor advantage. It's a scape goat for the lack of players and has nothing to do with it.
It existed in a greater detail in TFC and that was an amazing mod. So few people were against it, an apparently not against it enough to take the 30 seconds it took to learn how to use it effectively. It's survived the test of time. People played it and liked it by the thousands. I think brining it up now should be done in more honest of ways. You of course can not like it, or not think that it's a good idea. But that doesn't mean it should be removed from the game. I think it was cause more harm than good if that were the case. |

Right now the advantage is so indiscernable that it does not matter either way.
When BHOP is back in and it actually matters, then this discussion will matter. BHOP example, back when it was 120/125: I was a Scout running with the flag. Skanky Butterpuss was a Pyro. Although a Scout can outrun a Pyro, he caught up to me enough and burninated me because he could BHOP and I could not. Let us see how it works out when the cap goes up moar.

Thats another thing I had on my list..........
Those damn and pesky pyros have really been enhanced. Those fire bombs or what not spread all over the damn place and now I have to duck from them and sometimes pass them up on O if moving to the flag. Do you know how many times I would pass up a pyro in TFC on my way to the flag.....NONE!!!!! Those burning machines can really decrease my health or kill me. To all of the Pyros out there!!!!!!! I have deep rooted issues with you.
