There's a space piloting ships game out there that's free that I played for awhile and loved. The physics in it were crazy... Alliance I think it was. There were commanders and then regular pilots. Commanders would issue commands (obviously) and try and take all the cap points. Crazy fun game.

I friggin' hate Gunbound for two reasons, and they both occurred on my first of two games I have ever played (and likely ever will):

Community Attitude: My first shot hits one of my guys. Since he is riding in some sort of low-riding, tricked out Trico with 22" chrome legs and a subwoofer, he loses like 1% of his life. And even so, most of the people in the game are all "omg, noob", "gtfo", and "zhang shei mo something something" (in Chinese, obviously).

Sandbagging: I go onto the Rookie servers. I would expect to see other people who are similarly equipped as I am - nope, both games I jumped into (including ones with "Newbies only, please!" etc.) have people riding mechs with goddamned floating angels next to them and shots that split into twenty different pieces and then shoot out black holes, tornadoes, and lightning. Way to implement coding that actually has Rookies in the Rookie games, softnyx.

So yeah, fuck Gunbound. ):<

It just hit me - Beyond Good & Evil. You can probably pick it up cheap and it is an excellent (albeit painfully short game).

And fuck you Ubisoft for not finishing the trilogy yet, you bastards. Fuck you with a pipe wrench. ):<

You can buy it at Amazon (PS2, XBOX,). Definitely one of those fun and brilliantly designed but painfully short games like God of War.

Seriously. Best games ever made for the Mac. Ported to windows via the Aleph One source port.

Ironically, today's hot macs are pretty good gaming machines for windows. lol

Marathon is nice but takes way too much credit for what it is. It's an FPS but it's not necessarily a good fun one with its great features that sound good on paper (akimbo shotguns and pistols are nice but doesn't really save the game's slow paced wonkyness)

Also, about Marathon... that game was really ahead of it's time in my opinion. Yes, the duel pistols and shotguns are especially cool (especially the shotguns.) But, the game had a few more multi player options than Doom (Marathon 2 and Infinity had KOTH, Kill the man with the ball, tag.) Also, Marathon has a fantastic storyline. I haven't gotten to far into it really, but some of the back story I have seen is pretty deep.

In the end, I think I like Marathon and Doom about as much. Doom had a more frantic pace, while Marathon was more slow and atmospheric.

I haven't play any video games for a while, so I haven't played any of the last few updates for this game, but about a year ago it was amazing, the best on-horse combat I've experienced. It's free to play until your character reaches level 6, but I can give someone my upgrade code if they want, I believe it can be used once every 6 months or so.
