Should Bunny Hop stay or leave FF?
BHOP is an advantage against the noobs who are the only hope for FF to grow.

Bhop is also one of the classic aspects of Team Fortress that any older player would hope to look for.

I think you deal with it. All of us were n00bs at one point in time. If anything the old timers should foster a helpful attitude towards the n00bs. Help them learn. Personally I never bhopped. Glide hop only.

I think that Bhopping is going too far when it is the most desirable form of movement over running. Might as well program the game to auto hop and have a special run/walk key. Combat just seems so clownish with two people bouncing around in circles trying to shoot each other.

ok...that's cool.
FF shall stay in it's present status....it's an elitists game and will only appeal to the the elites which isn't many people. EDIT: i like the idea of the noob server/server's that's been talked about. Those servers should have peeps in it that have the ability to teach noobs and not own them...lol Last edited by s0undch4s3r; 12-27-2007 at 09:05 PM. |

Wouldn't bother playing if those exploit style skills weren't there. Though supposedly it's like it isn't there anyway because it's so slow.
Eradicate concing and rocket jumping...also remove weps just leaving classes with melee weapons. edit:This is what/was what true TF was all about, those unintentional? skills. What's the point if it all went? Would just be a regular game (TF2). Don't like it then don't play it simple as. Lazy post, cba, dull discussion. Yawn. Last edited by Paft; 12-27-2007 at 09:13 PM. |

Almost everything is "unfair" to a newbie to any game. Instead of finding a way around it or learning to do it, they just complain about it. If it is part of the game, it's going to happen no matter what. Taking it out of the game will only lose players who have learned to love it.

I don't see FF as an elitist game at all. Some of the community's attitude, sure, but not the mod.
So long as newbies [note: not a n00b] are willing to learn the more advanced skills of the game our fanbase will slowly grow. Hopefully on the Newbie servers there will be such an environment where learning will be encouraged, and not just "LOL UR SLOW IMA FRAG YOU N00B KTHX." BTW, when these official newbie servers are set up... DO NOT pull that shit. Seriously. |

I say it is time for it to go.........
but that is my own opinion. Keep the rocket jump for sollys though since I cannot do that over and over again without dying.

Bhop was built into the game.
The devs want it there. It will stay there. |

So far it's 11-2 in our favor. Dark Hellspawn just likes to rile people up, so it's more like 12-1. Yep, the OP is the only person who wants to get rid of bhopping. Great job on the poll.

Why is it that people who have no idea what they're talking about or who can't bhop are always the ones against it?
It's sort of like the computer illiterate complaining about computers and the internet.

My intention was never to rile people up............
maybe rile everyone up to go out and recruit new players but not to cause internal strife on the mod. I like bhopping and it is easier then classic days but it was my personal opinion that it is a turn off with new players seeing everyone shooting each other and hopping around. I am only concerned about the player community and growing it. I can go to any server right now and see another fellow forum member playing on that server.
I am just wanting someone to step up and get some momentum moving. I do not want to argue the point. The devels created it with it in mind so it will stay of course. I am just giving my side of it. Now on the issue with players not being around what can we do and what should we do. We need to get some brainstorming going because people are not going to keep empty servers running forever. dh

Bunnyhopping should stay. The tutorial that AcidRenix did was awesome, and maybe they should be put on the front page under a tutorial section? That way whenever a new player visits and downloads the game, they could also check out the videos. Oh, and maybe on the download page put something about the available tutorials.
