I've been playing with my friend dana lately while using vent, I never would have imagined how much more fun it is that way. Serious props to the devs.

Item builds are really key.

If you aren't somewhat naturally good at it, I'd suggest not trying. The DotA community is like that. They ban you because you are bad. And, as Dospac said, the DotA community is alive and well. People must be good or they will be forced out. It is what the TFC/FF community should be (in my opinion).

As for your comment about WC3 BNet games, I have no idea what you are talking about. Is that referring to DotA or ladder? If you are talking about DotA you are getting kicked because you don't have the map (most likely). There is one solution: getdota.com. If you are talking about ladder, then it auto-pairs you with other people around your ladder ranking; there should be no problems.
No, I mean, I get into the rooom (I have the map) during pre-match, and suddenly I am kicked.

Obviously if I am smart enough to find the AI version of the map than I am smart enough to get the appropriate version for current online play. d:

Then that is just a coincidence, unless you have been added to the global banlist for some reason. Just join another.

Sometimes I get kicked because the host is trying to get his friend in. One of the "joys" of the crappy custom-game interface. There are programs for that, though.

And yet, the game is still fun.
I have figured out why everyone is so angry in DotA. It is because it is so unbelievably team-oriented that one leaver, feeder, or generally bad player ruins the game for everybody in it.

Inhouse 5v5 on Hamachi with everyone on vent is the bomb diggiest of all bomb diggs.

Well, all of you can just excuse me for posting positive comments about FF. In my opinion FF is going to be better then tf2. I thought this was a ff fan site, instead it looks like a tf2 fan site.

Can someone please point me to a real ff fan site? At least there we can discuss the positive aspects of ff instead of how much more "popular" tf2 is going to be.

I came here to talk about FF, and most of you just want to talk about how much better and more popular tf2 is going to be. Just about this whole community looks like valve has bought had paid for your opinion.

I guess I was wrong in thinking this was the official FF fan site. Does anyone know the real FF fan site address? Maybe my praises of FF will be more welcome there.

In the tf2 steam forums I bash tf2 every chance I get. In this forum I praise FF. Maybe that could be backwards? Maybe all the tf2 fans are here and the FF fans are on the steam forums?

When the two games are released, I plan on playing FF. TF2 can sit on in a dark corner where its been for the past 9 years.

You're annoying... all people are saying is that TF2 will end up having a larger playerbase NO MATTER WHICH one is better. I think almost everyone here agrees that FF will be the better game. Does that mean we all have to talk shit about TF2? No, thats a childish waste of time. If you can't find enough threads on this site that praise FF then you are looking with your eyes closed buddy.

In no way am I hating on FF, but if you think that FF is going to have a larger playerbase than TF2 you are kidding yourself. You've obviously never taken a marketing class before. Simple logic. Valve is a company that has A LOT of money and resources that they can spend on advertising...FF..not so much. A good analogy in my opinion would be like the Windows and Linux operating systems. FF in truth, could be the better mod who knows. Just like Linux is often times better than Windows, but the simple fact that Windows(TF2) has (much)more marketing power leads users to purchase that product. We won't know which mod is better until both of them are released so we should just end that discussion right now. I support both games, and I will probably play both of them, but to be a fan of one game over the other at this point is pretty naive.

If people listened to this simple bit of advice, the Internet would probably have 30% less traffic

I actually agree with you. Linux and Windows are dead on like FF and TF2.

FF / Linux gives you depth and advanced techniques that you can use.

Windows / TF2 is for newbie peoples (not an insult) who can not handle something called a "command line".

The difference is FF will be like Linux but with a built in, intuitive help file that explains how you do things, kind of like having a teacher in a class, and that is where its strength lies.

We would all be idiots to think that TF2 does not have something similar, but TF2 will never have the depth of play and high level skills that FF can provide IMO.
