As The Borg have assimilated smaller companies I wonder...who do you miss?

Personally I miss:

Westwood
Ion Storm
Black Isle

I think they did good things and produced products where you could see the love of the game.

Who do you miss?

DAVILEX

They were a small Dutch company that made some pretty good games. They got turned over for something big...I dunno...

Blizzard before they ****ed up.

Westwood - for their Command and conquer series. Sweet and simple game play.

IDsoftware - after Quake1, the comapny lost direction and have not put out a good game since.

Blizzard - I really miss the dungeon crawls that made the Diablo series famous.

And most of all, drum roll please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Valve software - Sometime between Opposing Force, blue-shift, and HL2, the company lost direction.

At one time all of those game companies made a product for the money, and for the fun of it. But the desire for profits wedged out the "fun" part. And now its all about the money.

DICE (Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment)…. They made some of the best rally games… and then EA sucked them up after Battlefield: 1942… now all they do is create installments of the Battlefield series. Such talent… wasted.

Black Isle: Like others have said.
Relic: I'd like to see a Homeworld 3.
Volition: A true follow up to Red Faction would be nice. Red Faction 2 and 3 we're big let downs.
Ritual: I still want my SiN Episode 2...

Seriously now? Have you not heard of Mirror's Edge?

DICE said that they didn't want to be a one trick pony, so they expanded to Mirror's Edge. I think they're going in the right direction.

As for companies I miss... hmm... Ubisoft, Natsume, and Rare (although I played the Demo of Viva Pinata and they are definitely making a comeback).
