Another TF2 Review
I hope no one else has posted about this, and if so I must have missed it and I apologize. Here's the link:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=160763 This made me lol "The Source Engine's physics capabilities allow for some interesting ways to kill people with grenades, and when the train yard you're fighting in sees more than a few speeding trains thundering through it, the sight of somebody evading your explosives only to be hit by an oncoming train is as thrilling as it is frequent." -Ryu |

I still can't picture a Train in the middle of Well. Hopefully they release a Screen Shot soon.

strangely enough tf2 is starting to sound more appealing to me now that it sounds like bhopping in ff is gonna be slow and useless.

are you serious?? the bunnyhopping, concing in FF has basically identical smoothness and feel as in TFC. watch the videos. seeing this in the videos is extremly reassuring i agree TF2 does sound very appealing since it's a complete 360 from FF. sounds like playing in pubs will be crazy and just fun. i bet playing with your close friends on ventrilo/teamspeak will be just fun as hell to play. |

Is it me or do you want to steal those flags? I think it is programmed into me now.
Speaking of those flags, something does not feel right having them standing next to that picture. S=

Watch this *new* TF2 trailer.
- I think the voiceover really fits the comical graphic style. - It looks like they gave the medic a parachute in exchange for his concgrens - amazing light effects hf |

Tu, given that you rarely say anything positive about this mod you've hung around for an awful long time.

Glide still nets you a gain similar to TFC, actually larger because of the increase in movespeed. But on top of this, you can maintain higher speeds than TFC over moderately long distances with a conc or explosion jump.
What's interesting, is on average over the same space, using a conc in TFC and FF, I'm willing to bet you go much faster in FF because of the skimming that is possible. The only thing significantly different is the top move speed possible via bhop is now more in line with the skill required to execute the move. Not entirely in line though, as it probably should be in the 115-120% range to balance correctly with gliding.. Anyway.. don't worry too much dood, it plays pretty well @ 108. Certainly not 62% worse than TFC. :P |

Bunnyhop would be nice at 130-140%. Glides and conc skimming are good, but what about classes that don't conc? I wouldn't want to just do glides over and over like in Natural Selection when they removed bunnyhopping from marines.

TFC was fast when you bhopped, but FF is just faster, and even faster when you bhop. |

How do you review an unreleased game? (Not a review copy, shhh) Clearly this is a preview not a review >_<
I'd like to see some gameplay footage of TF2, Hydo maps sound very interesting & fun. Sort of like cs_havana on CS:Source I guess where sometimes the doors at CT spawn shut and you have to go the other way (hate that map + other way :P) Last edited by Agret; 04-10-2007 at 09:39 AM. |
