Also, how it compares to OSX. Because OSX is sexy and if it worked on a PC I'd put it on here in a second.
OSX runs on a Linux kernel, so I don't think its too far off from being on a "PC". I bet with a few kernel tweaks you could probably create the Frankenstein of computers: a "PC" with OSX on it.

Actually Merv I believe you'll find that OSX is a mutt of sorts and has pieces adapted from Linux and Unix. I respect what they've done even if I don't and won't use it. No need. I've been in the Linux camp for a long time...though I use Windows too where I need to.

There's already a project out there for getting OSX to run on a PC.

Anyone else running Vista Ultimate checked out the latest extra, DreamScene? It lets you use an mpg or wmv as your desktop background. I tried it with the Black Mesa trailer, which ran fine and probably better than I was expecting of my aging Athlon XP 2000+. About the same performance hit as playing a video normally but in lower priority, so it'll drop frames if you're hammering your system. Oh and you can pause it.

Seems like more bloat to me, I hardly ever look at my desktop after starting my computer. The "back" window is usually my web browser, I never get lower than that.

My experience with Vista is that I dislike the new UI changes to explorer so I just switched to SuSE linux & Win XP w/ Vista Visual Style dual boot. Vista is such a resource hog =/ I guess ill have to go back to Vista when I get my new computer for DX10 gaming though. Damn Microsoft locking me in with that... Whatever happened to pro-choice? At least I shouldn't have any problems with resource usage seeing as how it'll be a beast, NVIDIA have launched a new 320mb version of the 8800GTS. It's very affordable ($450 AUD) Less than half the price of the 8800GTX ($860-$1000 AUD)
