Ugh,..
My Pc got a trojan.. Maybye not a trojan, even worse virus.. I lost amped files...And many other maps and things i had on my computer.. And my windows crashed, and half of the files was gone. My antivirus didnt work, ad aware and spyware didnt work, nothing was working. Even my control management tools was blocked. I had no acess to do anything. My left option was to format the PC. And later same day i didn't find it on my site, both vmf files of badlands looks to be gone, but i have still to check my folders if i got the files on my site. Amped was supposed to be realeased today, but because of the unexpected trojan hijack on my pc, i have to hopes i will find the files on my site. If not, im dead. I am very sorry guys, i want to give you the beta of amped, but cant as you see.. ugh.. that sucked. |

talk about fucking shitzor luck!
I guess it's also worth noting that the lack of progress on my Warpath remake is due to my extreme stupidity and the fact that I forgot to backup my projects folder when I switched to a new hardrive and formatted my old one I get all excited when it comes to getting new hardware and I forget to do alot of important things (I lost my resume, english essay, downloaded games - Farcry, Doom3, UT2004, Dawn of War, WC3FT, etc etc - in the switch too) I've had a few design concepts for some originals floating around in my little brain for the past few days and I think im gonna see about getting some sketches up and see what you guys think. |

well..
badlands is gone forever, but amped vmf is still as a backup on my site. And who made the trojan virus, i wish he was deleted he self. So, everything, but for Fortress-Forever. I will never give up. Amped will be released on a later date, need to establish all common files and install all hl2 programs. about the virus maker.. i wish i would get 3 minutes in a room without camera's with the writer and a baseball bat . |

do what I've started doing, create a primary windows/random crap partition on your hard drive (20-30GB's) and a secondary partition for your downloads, games, maps, etc. In my past experiences any virus' will only damage your primary partitions files and leave the secondary untouched so a simple windows re-install will get you back in action (and your games should still work too)
PS: Partition Magic 8.0 |

Dear God....Id say you put alot of company's to shame with that map. Hell yes I wanna beta test this baby. Keep up the good work.
But I would suggest renaming it, and put credits somewhere on the map. People need to know the name God that map this map. |

Very good with the Amped map news, I look forward to seeing it in the future!
Just something that was said earlier. Quote:
Oh yeah and never give out a RMF / VMF map file. |

Ambex (and anyone else)...
I work with a guy who can recover data on hard drives. He does this as a side business, and has all the software and equipment to recover hard drives going into the crapper. IM or email me if you want info. I get nothing from it, but just thought I'd mention it for future use if you so choose. |

I guess it cant hurt to say, Im using a decompiler for my recreation of Badlands. It helps me to make sure that the new version is as close to the original in dimensions as possible. Just put the new brushes over the old ones and work from there!

Burn backups to CDs. And if you have a local friend who has no idea what games are give him the CD and tell him to keep it. I have Knoppix 3.7 on a CD. Its basically a Linux OS that can boot straight from the CD. It isn't functional for a full time OS but it is perfect for when Windows decides it can't boot up or problems like that. Of course it can't undelete anything. Might be a thing to look into for future reference. Its saved me tons of work on other people's computers.
