Yeah Im just saying that its alot easier to learn how to model, map, do sounds, animate, etc since there are tutorials all around the web and its just media shit. I mean, even if the model walks kinda funny or looks funny, the game will still work.
Coding is another game. Like, I didn't know how to map at all about 1 year ago and I learned with tuts, now I could easily do a nice map for Smash TV. Same with sound, its not that hard to understand or create if you have the right equipment. Like creating textures, find a tut, learn fast. But programming the mod is like..... yeah, where do I start... hmmm... if you wanna learn coding to be able to create a mod that works good, you better wake up early. If you look around online at all the mods in progress for hl2, you'll see that most of them are looking for programmers. Last edited by Sh4x; 04-27-2007 at 11:11 PM. |

Yea, most mods have that problem. Unless the mod sounds interesting you arn't going to get a programmar and that will end up ending the mod.

Just like the real game. There would be a camera with a top down view that moves on the x-y plane for going from an anera to the other. Everyone would have the same view. Monsters models would be simple ones (not many polys) so you can have alot of them at once without lagging the whole shit. People would connect to a server and start a map of their choice which would be an entire micro game on its own since you can easily fit multiple arenas in a map space. Include spawning guns, power-ups and blood splattering on walls and you get the best co-op game ever to play with your friends. Mappers would create custom maps with different difficulty levels so there would always be a new challenge waiting for you. I already have the game all thought out and I'm confident it would be a blast. I just wish I knew a programmer that liked Smash TV as much as I did heh... one that's a co-op fan too. |
