I'd much prefer doing a draft. I think teams should be limited to (matchsize+2), though, maybe even (matchsize+1). Otherwise you'll have teams fielding the same top players every game, giving the lesser skilled people almost no chance to play.

Just out of curiosity Geo, why did you vote no? There hasn't been real discussion about this from someone who is reasonable and in opposition to it. I'd just be interested to know your concerns and ideas.

I think we have a better chance of a couple TFC clans starting up a small FF branch and fielding a 4v4 team for a league rather than get people to join some league where they wont be playing with anyone they are friends with

Well I dunno whos voting, butI know the major core that actually play this game competitively (in the U.S.) won't want this to happen, and will refuse to participate in such league. Create 2 divisions if you must.

Well, instead of you speaking for the "core" have them come vote. One person does not equal the "core". Perhaps this league can be a union between those who don't currently play competitively and those who do. I am of the opinion that this "core" you speak of is way too out of touch with the average gamer who plays FF. It'd be a good ego and reality check for this "core".

Not a judgement...just my humble opinion...there was no disrespect intended towards anyone. It's simple. The competitive community upon release immediately separated itself from the rest of the community and it has remained segregated since then. There has to be a middle ground now. There's too few players left to remain so divided.

I get that. And it makes perfect sense, but no one said you couldn't draft your own guys. Essentially you could draft your own guys back in to your clan if you really wanted, if they weren't drafted first. That's the beauty of it IMO. Playing with familiar faces...but teaching some new ones about the competitive aspect of FF. Let's face it, this community is on life support, something has to bridge the gap. This league may completely flop if Satan decides to use the format...but everything else has already flopped too. Maybe there can be a whole separate league where already established clans like e0 can sign up and play with that roster...who knows.

I could easily start the FF.Pickup 4v4 League back up as an alternative for clans that want to play together, but it's going to take a lot more than 3 people in a poll to convince me that it won't be abandoned within the first couple weeks.

Also, US clans could be scrimming if they really want to play matches together, but they don't. Only euros are motivated enough to do that.
