Does anybody plan to see it? I probably won't (I hate horror movies), but it looks pretty interesting. The fact that they won't show the monster in any of the trailers or ANYTHING for that matter only makes me curious.

Yep, I will definitely be seeing this. I doubt it's a horror movie, more of a suspense type movie...

Yea, Abrams (The producer for the film) said he was inspired to make it when he went to a toy store in Japan with his son, and saw a ton of Godzilla toys. He figured we out to have our own monster that's "not King Kong, King Kong is adorable."

Still though, it looks more like a horror movie than a Japanese kaijū film. Nonetheless, still looks like a sweet movie.

That, and the shot of the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty just flying out of absolutely nowhere is really cool, plain and simple.

Yeah I have to agree with uBeR for a change. Most of these films are getting worse and worse and their budgets are getting smaller and smaller.

No movie has scared me since "The Exorcist" and that's because:

1.) I'm terrified of needles
2.) THAT BITCH CRABWALKED DOWN SOME STAIRS

My best friend and I are going to go see it. Then we shall eat a glorious meal and go back to her place and have a new years celebration. It shall be a fun night whether or not the movie is good.

I actually found that shot cliche and kinda stupid. But that's all opinion.
The movie itself looks interesting. I'll certainly watch it and hopefully not be disappointed.

The only beef I have now is that it's advertising is working. I find this type of advertising annoying because .... well I don't really have a good reason I'll be honest. I'm just annoyed by it. It works really well. Maybe I'm annoyed because it's good... who the hell knows. But I hate it lol. I wont hold it against the movie though.

It's a giant Janet Reno monster that's pissed off about the war in Iraq, and thus ripped off the Statue of Liberty's head.

I've never been 'scared' from a movie. I've jumped, sure, but that's not being scared. Horror movies aren't my thing.

But this doesn't look like a horror movie. It looks like some big ass Cthulhu raping the statue of liberty with his eye cannons of vengeance. Then, he goes around bustin the army up with his tentacles of rage. Finally, he poops out a poop pyramid the size of the Gaza Strip and the world smiles.

Monster movies rape. Especially when you don't know what the monster is until you see the movie... if you even see the monster at all.

The director says that there is definitely a monster, and he says he can't comment on what it looks like, so I assume the audience gets to see it at some point in the film.
