[Released] FF_Plasma_beta1

This is my first map, i wanted it to be fast paced and simple. Ill tweak tons of stuff to balance it. Ill add tons more details and a real yard on beta2. I want it to be a league map. Special thanks to squeek for teaching me to use hammer, and cake for theory on the map. I do need somebody to make me some custom Plasma textures for the plasma in the map.

yeah equilibrium and I both were in the e0 server playing it. we found a few things about it. brim will let u know tho i gotta get to class. i bet god helped u with the map its very nicely done

Nothing agains dm maps.. but i had enought of them.. a CTF map wow! Looks pretty clean good loking I´m sure it gonna be in our server map rotation thks a lot for this map!

I played it today, if you will add some obstacles to the middle later it will be a great pub map too!

You can capture the blue flag in either red team cap point or blue team cap point. Red flag capturing works as normal afaict.

You can also drop the flag on one side of a laser barrier and pick it up again on the other. Pretty sure this is a general fortress issue atm, with no obvious workaround.

Only had a run around on this map quickly, but not sure how it would play in a full game with so many laser beams and stuff around. The water lift things are kind of weird too, I'm not sure if I like them.

Nice map though, be interesting to play a full game on it.

I thought I liked session until I tried to play defense against a competent offense. Then it's just frustrating. Good luck getting back into position or getting cells as engi.

not to derail the topic, but i had built it to be o-friendly before ff was out... and then to find out ff has the chop hop which absolutely kills it. oh well.

as a side note, i do not like ff's chop hop. its the game's biggest weakness imo.

off topic...idk what you all are complaining about I personally love sessions, I get from a lot of people that it sucks but I think they suck TBH.

Put a solly on flagroom right ramp, Sg in flag area and fatty on flag room left and you can lock down that shit even against a competent O...get another Sg / solly and it's good night caps.

O has some great ramp slides, trimps, and all around cool maneuverability to be able to pull off some great shit...I think a lot of the complaining is coming from playing it in a pub server where you either see one decent scout / med flying through the flag room past 10 idiotic pub players, or you see 3 / 4 decent D members locking it down.

Once it get's played in the leagues I think people will come to love it or at least you will enjoy it cause you have to play it *evil laugh*!

On topic...this looks great man and I can't wait to jump around in it!

The problem I had with session is that you get about 2 meds and a scout running around your flagroom dming you constantly due to the offense-only spawns. Defense can not ever get into position fast enough and the packs don't give nearly enough cells... and they are stolen by the offense. Engis have a real tough time building and keeping a sentry up for longer than a minute or so and there are literally zero choke points. The ramps are so wide that offense will be able to get past a soli/hw every time without being touched. The map is basically "defend the demo" and "see how many dets the demo can hit" with perhaps a little "can the engi and sg survive?" thrown in there.

I had fun pubbing on it (session), but when it was played in a pickup it slapped me in the face. Offense is really not difficult at all and defense is out of control. I'd be willing to predict scores of over 500 (depending on the matchups, I bet someone will break into quad-digits as well) when this gets played in UGC.

On topic... this map (plasmar) is perfect for everything. 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, etc, etc, etc. Well done Mushy; but, you probably have gotten the idea that this map is amazing by now.

Had 20 people on your map and nobody bitched. I think this shows that some times simpler yards can be a lot better for game play and helps keep the fps issues down.
