Multiple Caps in Reverse CTF?
I haven't played TFC in a long time, but I had a idea and wondered if it was feasible to make into a map. Could you create a reverse CTF map (the one where you carry your flag into the enemy base to cap) with mulitple cap points. Having one be fairly easy to cap for 1 point. 1 further in for 3 point and 1 buried in the heart of the enemy base for 5 point. I don't know if it was possible but I thought it might add a different dynamic to CTF.

its sorta been done.
Map = enclave You get a certain number of points for gettin the flag INTO the yard of the enemy, and u get a lot more if u can get it into the base on the cap point. |

Yea we had enclave in ECTFC 5, it was a crazy map, not least due to the fact that the flag wasnt visible on HLTV lol.

I figured most of the good map ideas have probably been done before even if poorly. I just thought this might add a little fun and intensity to CTF. If done right it could be really fun. I only remember a few maps that I got from Radium that were Reverse CTF. Is that not as fun or harder to balance than a regular CTF map?

I like this idea, it promotes more teamplay especially on protecting the flag carrier (rather than a rambo run for the capture point) and also promotes teams to be more aware defensively. Get on to the Ideas & Suggestions forums and expand on this alot, I could see it being included in FF.
If only more people posted like this aswell, the simple K I S S (Keep it simple, stupid) ideas are the best! |

Its a pretty good idea but the cap points would have to be quite close together. Imagine torch2 with another cap point under the bridge to the normal cap point, maybe worth 5 points. That might work quite well. I think the different cap points would have to be in the same room otherwise the defence would have to split up to cover them.

I figure he meant as more of a linear fashon, this way the D can pretty much cover the furthest point (the one worth the least points closest to the entrance) and IF the offence happens to make it by those guys and makes it further into the base, he gets more points. But if it where linear rather than spread out, it shouldn't be too difficult for D to cover, just make the spawn point like right beside the highest cap point so that its extremely easy for the D to defend, also make it in a really tight spot for offence to get into. Same for the other points, make the center one (assuming 3 diffrent capture points) a bit easier to get to, but quite a bit harder than the first point. This way D can cover them all starting with the easiest point, and o will have a very difficult time getting to the highest scoring point, especially when killing the enemy D at the first point as they will respawn right next to the highest.
Sounds like a good map idea to me (Just my two cents :P) |

3 keys, 1 flag each team.
Take the keys from your base, to three spots in the enemy territory/base to open the gates to the enemy flag room, grab it and return to your base with the flag. Then have a reset (like in epicenter). Ok, so it's not revers CTF, but it's a little of both.. (As a posibility a demoman could reset the keys with a detpack, but that would just end up with a demoman suiciding and resetting all keys.. So forget about that.. ) |

its entity hell when trying to combine 2 gametypes like territorial with ctf style. Thats why you dont see these whacky map types in TFC. Hopefully the FF folks will make it possible for these kinda maps to happen.
