Achron - Adding time control in RTS

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009...time-strategy/

This game just made RTS's even more confusing.

Awesome. Looks hilariously confusing and I'm not entirely sure how on Earth it's supposed to work in multiplayer, but I think it would actually make sense if you get your hands on the game.

Interesting idea and concept, but looks confusing as fuck, at least until you get used to how the system works.

Ya, the guy talked soo quickly in the video making it probably sound even more confusing than it is.

Archon for the NES rocked btw, I loved that game.

Seriously? I thought he talked at a fairly normal speed, the only thing I can see hindering understanding is the standard confusion that arises from talking about time travel. Looks like it could be an awesome game too.

And the game begins. I can see that shit happening in tournaments.

Do you think replays will be straight through, so you would see mechs just coem out from nowhere?

Game Start
Mech rush?

Is it still a rush if you go back in time to do it?

I tried wrapping my head around that problem, and thought about what I saw in the video. That power bar that lets you time travel is consumed pretty quick when you jump back in time, and things that you change in the past take time to propegate, so it's not like "Oh shit, just jump into the past and fix all my problems when they occur". It looks like you'll have to pick and choose your battles you want to correct, and mistakes you want to fix.
