Fixxed. Play where there are people on public games, then once you start playing with the team part of the game, get an IRC client and ask Geokill what next. People play these games called "pickups" where people just hop on and its 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 usually.

Hey spambot. Yes, this is a gem of a game. Maybe not a bad thing that it is not flooded, yet? Most servers come to life as soon as 2-3 people are in. A lot of people browse the server lists and check for players ingame. My suggestion: adopt a server which you like and got a good ping and hang out there. Bring a friend or two. You will soon have created a small community

I'm talking about pub servers. The clan guys knows more about clan style servers. And I don't think there is a shortage of that.

For pubs, I would recommend checking out TALOS, those guys are a great bunch. When you get all the basics down, come play in the late night AvD sessions in e0!
